This is my first project knitted in the round (4 double-pointed needles). I was inspired by an old cotton beanie my grandmother Yolanda knitted for my brother 26 years ago and which is now G's favourite spring beanie. I tried to count the stiches she casted on but of course the final measurent is different and my beanie is slightly too big for G, but I'm sure it will be fine in a couple of months. It will be suitable for a 18month big baby.Working with four needles was quite tricky at the beginning especially when changing needle and indeed some stitches came out a bit loose but I improved increasing the tension of the first two stiches at the beginning of every new needle.
As I said the pattern is extremely easy and perfect if you are a beginner.
Questo è il mio primo progetto fatto con il gioco di ferri (4 ferri a doppia punta). Mi sono ispirata a un berrettino che mia nonna Yolanda fece per mio fratello26 anni fa e che oggi è il berrettino primaverile preferito da G. Ho cercato di contare le maglie che aveva montato e proseguire il lavoro come fece lei, ma il risultato è un po' diverso e il berrettino un pochino troppo grande per G. Direi che è un 18mesi abbondante. Andrà bene tra qualche mese!
Lavorare con 4 ferri all'inizio è stato abbastanza difficile e infatti alcuni punti sono un po' allentati soprattutto nel passaggio da un ferro all'altro, ma ho cercato di migliorare aumentando la tensione dei primi due punti di ogni nuovo ferro.
Come vi dicevo questo lavoro è semplicissimo e ideale se, come me, siete principianti.

Yarn/Lana: any soft yarn suitable for babies. Qualunque filato morbido adatto ai bambini.
I used/ Ho usato White ( Bianco) Pro Filo Lana Baby 100% Merinos and/e Blue ( Azzurro) Baby Milk Lanes du Nord
Needles/ Ferri: 4 dp needles or circular needles 3mm/ 4 ferri doppia punta o ferri circolari da 3mm
Gauge/Tensione: 28 stitches/maglie= 10cm
36 rows/giri= 10cm
With white yarn cast on 121 stitches, place marker, join in the round
K 12 rows, then change color
row 13: *k 4 rows in blue then change color, k 4 rows in white then change color*
repeat from* to* other 3 times ( about 2.7 inch -11 cm - from CO edge)
row 44: with blue yarn [K9, K2tg] till the end of the row
with blue yarn K 3 rows
row 48: with white yarn [K9, K2tg] till the end of the row
with white yarn k 3 rows
row 52: repeat row 44
with blue yarn K 3 rows
row 56: repeat row 48
with white yarn K 3 rows
row 59: repeat row 44
with blue yarn K 3 rows (66 stitches)
row 63: with white yarn [k9, K2tg] till the end of the row
row 64: K (white)

k other 6 rows in blue for the point then break yarn, draw trough remaining sts and pull tight.
Con la lana bianca avviare 121 maglie sul gioco di ferri.
Lavorare a diritto per 12 giri, poi cambiare colore.
Giro 13: *lavorare 4 giri a diritto, cambiare colore e lavorare 4 giri a diritto*
ripetere da*a * per altre 3 volte (circa 11 cm dal bordo iniziale)
Giro 44: con la lana azzurra lavorare 9 maglie a diritto e poi due insieme a diritto fino alla fine del giro
lavorare 3 giri a diritto in azzurro
Giro 48: con la lana bianca lavorare 9 maglie a diritto e poi due insieme a diritto fino alla fine del
